The Living Essence Training

We are delighted to announce the return of the Living Essence Training in the US, which has been thoroughly revised and recreated.

Essence is the innermost core of who you really are, beyond all history and conditioning. Essence is always free, awake and overflowing.

Living Essence means to live, express and give that essence in every aspect of your life, as a living work of art. It means to fully show up as vibrant presence, with humor and generosity in every action and every relationship.

The Living Essence Work is a simple and practical set of tools designed to provoke radical awakening within the context of modern life, and to gently dissolve old habits, which inhibit living from that awakening.

The Living Essence Training is a highly practical program to learn theses tools, both for your own benefit and to be able to serve others. This training is perfect for anyone with a longing to live their heart’s wisdom in every dimension of their life.

Background

Arjuna started teaching the Living Essence Training in 1995 at the Alive and Well! Institute in San Anselmo, CA. The tools integrated in the training had come to Arjuna “like a fax out of nowhere” while he was staying in Katmandu, and they later were recorded in his first book Relaxing into Clear Seeing. Since that time, Arjuna and his co-teachers have trained more than 650 practitioners all over the world in those tools.

Over the last years, we have offered much fewer and smaller trainings, in the United States and in Europe. Arjuna was, for several years, involved in the research and writing of his 2005 bestseller: The Translucent Revolution, and soon after in his book about the Oneness University: Awakening into Oneness.

In the last years, Arjuna has been teaching much shorter and more portable tools: that can be used in just a few minutes to leap out of the mind and into the radiance of the present moment. His new book Leap Before You Look trains the reader in 72 such tools. The new training will prepare you to facilitate awakened consciousness in yourself, as well as with friends, family and people with whom you work, and to facilitate these new tools.

With the release of Arjuna’s newest book from Sounds True in April 2008, we are re-launching the Living Essence Training with a whole new look and feel. Graduates from the older courses may take this new course at a reviewer rate. A few elements have been retained from the old training, but many of the elements are new.

Level 1

Level 1 of the Living Essence Training starts on a Monday morning at 9am, and finishes the following Saturday at 6pm. The entire training comprises 50 hours of teaching time. The optional pre-course get together is on the Sunday evening before the course starts, from 7 to 9 pm. There is also an optional post course breakfast on the last Sunday from 10am to 12 noon.

Level 1 focuses on the skills you need to act as an awakening coach, both for yourself, and for friends, family, and for clients if you are already in the helping professions.

In Level 1 you will learn:

• meeting in presence: ways to fully show up for another human being in the wisdom of the awakened heart
• various styles of self-inquiry: ways to move from separation to Oneness. These methods can be practiced on yourself or with others
• introduction to “unresisting experience” as featured in the CD series Leap Before You Look
• simple means to dissolve separation in relationship
• methods from the book Leap Before You Look from sections 1-6. You will become familiar with these practices to use them yourself, and also how to instruct others and deal with obstacles and resistance that may arise
• how to recognize and work with masculine and feminine energy, and how to differentiate between masculine and feminine practice.

In level 1 you will also receive the Oneness Blessing every day, from several experienced facilitators. Please note that this is not a training to give the Oneness Blessing. For more information on that, please visit www.onenessuniversity.org.

The first Level 1 training in this new format is from June 16-21, at the Gold Miners Inn Holiday Express in Grass Valley, CA

• Read the book Awakening into Oneness (recommended)

Level 2

Level 2 of the Living Essence Training also starts on a Monday morning and concludes the following Saturday at 6pm. It also comprises 50 hours of teaching time.

The focus of level 2 is on facilitating practice groups, as described in Leap Before You Look practice #68 (Real Support).

• Students will learn how to facilitate a support group, and how to recognize the right practice for the right person.
• Deepening of “Unresisting Experience,” as featured in the CD series Leap Before You Look
• Deepening of familiarity with the practices in Leap Before You Look Sections 1-6, and also to the practices in Sections 7-9.
• A more specific syllabus of the Level 2 training will be provided at the Level 1 course when you attend.

Dates of the next Level 2 course: September 29th to Oct 4th.
You must complete Level 1 before continuing on to Level 2.

Level 3

Level 3 is also a 50 hour course, starting on Monday morning at 9 am and completing the following Saturday at 6pm.

• Level 3 continues and deepens familiarity with the tools described in Leap Before You Look, and expands to include reference to all 72 practices.
• Level 3 also includes leadership skills in facilitating one-day intensive workshops in awakening and the embodiment of awakening.
• A more specific syllabus of the Level 3 training will be provided at the Level 1 course when you attend.

Cost

The cost of the next Level 1 course is $1200

You will be asked to pay your deposit and balance after your application has been reviewed and accepted.

If you have already taken courses with Arjuna, or if you have already taken the Living Essence Training in its previous format, you may be eligible for significant discounts. Please contact James Ernest if you feel that this may apply to you.

Certification

Completion of each of the Level 1 and 2 courses will lead to a certification of completion for each course. The Living Essence Foundation recommends that you continue to practice with yourself and with friends and fellow students only.

Completion of Level 3 will lead to a certification as an intern with the Living Essence Foundation. This will allow you to attend future trainings at no cost, as well as to assist at other courses taught by Arjuna or Arjuna and Chameli Ardagh.

After certification as an intern with the Living Essence Foundation, you may continue to assist in Levels 1, 2 and 3, and to complete 200 hours of supervised practice as a spiritual counselor, and to receive 100 hours of supervised sessions. Documented completion of these 600 hours of training leads to ordination as a minister with the Living Essence Foundation. You would then be listed on the Living Essence website, and endorsed as a Living Essence Practitioner.

Affiliate program

We recognize that some people may have a strong longing to serve, and feel that they do not have the means to pay for the course. We also value the referrals our students make to the course. We do not actively advertise this course, it always fills through word of mouth. For these reasons we have created an affiliate program.

As soon as you have registered and paid in full for your level 1 course, you are automatically enrolled as an affiliate with the Living Essence Foundation. This means that for anyone you refer to the Living Essence Training who enrolls for the Level 1 course, you will receive a $300 credit for future courses. In order for this credit to apply, the person you refer cannot be an existing graduate of any of our courses, or on the Living Essence Foundation mailing list. If you refer 4 people to the Level 1 course, for example, you would get the Level 2 course at no cost.

You may at any time redeem these credits with the foundation at a 50% cash value: you can ask for a check of $150 for everyone you have referred.
